FAQ

What is the difference between coaching and counselling?

What happens in a session?

Why do I need to sign up for multiple sessions?

The main difference between coaching and counseling is that coaching is future-focused while counseling is past-focused. Coaching is about pursuing a personal or professional goal whereas counselling is about resolving an emotional or personal problem. Naturally coaching can involve emotional reasons for not achieving a goal, but will not focus on this as an end goal.

Sessions are tailored to what you are trying to achieve and where you are in your journey to achieving that goal. Prior to committing to the sessions, we will discuss your goal and I will send you a personalized session content overview. Each session last approx an hour although I am not a clock watcher, so it can over run if I feel we are progressing well. They take place over video conferencing in whatever programme you prefer ( Usually zoom, messenger, MS teams or Face time)

It can be hard to sign up for multiple sessions, either due to concerns regarding results or budget reasons. However achieving change and reaching goals is something that takes time and happens gradually, so in order to make real progress and truly benefit, a package of 6 sessions generally is what is required. However we can agree a monthly payment plan or less sessions if you prefer.
